Joy Mahan

A. Joy Mahan, born in Byars OK to Allen Minor and Lucille Reavis, died 22Dec09 at Northwest Nursing Center at age 80. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her two younger brothers, Don Minor and Bill Minor, and by the father of her children, Travis Mahan. Joy graduated from Tecumseh High School, where she continued to attend the annual alumni gathering for many years. She worked at the telephone company before she married Travis and became a homemaker in OKC. She managed a Braums Ice Cream Store and was later employed by the Oklahoma County Health Dept and retired from Water Quality in 1992. Joy was both musical and artistic. She sang and played the piano, loved to paint with the SWOKC Starving Artist Community, dancing and traveling with other retired friends to enjoy the Oklahoma Fiddlers Association and other musical outings.
