Joy Fry Parker Richards, 81, died on March 30, 2012 in Oklahoma City. She was born on November 28, 1930, in Piedmont and graduated from Piedmont High School where she played on the basketball team and participated in speech and drama. She attended Central State College in Edmond where she met and married Donald Parker. Joy and Don were married for 11 years until his death after a lengthy illness in 1961. She found love again, marrying Jim Richards in 1966. Joy retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1986 where she worked as a Customer Service Rep and a Manager for 28 years. Jim and Joy celebrated their forty-sixth wedding anniversary in March. Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Juanita Fry, a brother, Harold, and a brother-in-law Les Kimball. She is survived by her husband, Jim, and their four children, Janet Parker Reinhardt and her husband Clark, Dennis Parker and his wife Maria, Brenda Richards Dixon and her husband Ken, and Terri Richards Stanko and her husband Rick. She is also survived by her two sisters, Marjorie Fry Kimball and Willa Fry Gill and her husband Gene and a sister-in-law Wanda Moon. Jim and Joy have 9 grandchildren: Nathan, David, Melissa, Matthew, Kenny, Amanda Dixon, Anthony, Amanda Parker, and Lindsey. They have 3 great-grandchildren: Preston, Devin, and Ashley. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 7 at the Resurrection Free Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.
