Julia B Cain

Beloved wife, mother, friend"¦our beautiful Julia"¦left this earth April 21, 2010, embarking on an eternal voyage. We, her family and many, many friends are comforted knowing that Julia embarked on this journey as graciously as she lived her life. Julia was born August 26, 1930 in Muskogee, OK to Fred G. and Alpha Curtis Beckman. She graduated from Muskogee High School in 1948. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and served as chapter president. A gifted writer, Julia longed to major in English, but her father insisted on a "vocational major", so she graduated with a BA degree in Business Education in 1952. However, the prospect of teaching did not hold enough fascination for her. Julia had earned a private pilot"™s license while in college and was lured to travel and aviation as a career. She served American Airlines as a flight attendant from 1952 to 1955 and was a lifelong member of the "Kiwi" organization of former stewardesses, and maintained close...
