Karen Ann Forgue, 70, of Edmond, Oklahoma, was born on December 13, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William E. “Bill” Krapff and Alice Irene Krapff and passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Mount St. Mary’s. Karen was very independent. After high school, she moved out of her house and immediately started working at a blood plasma donation center. Soon after, she met the love of her life and was married to James “Frog” Forgue for 43 years before Frog passed away. They quickly started a family and had three children. She was a devoted wife and mother. When the kids went to school, she began her career with Courtesy Insurance Agency (“CIA”) where she worked for over 30 years as an insurance auditor (although according to her grandkids, she was a sniper with the CIA!). Karen was talented in so many aspects of her life. She was a remarkable cook. She enjoyed painting ceramics and could turn any trash into treasure. She was very crafty. Karen also loved nature and bird watching. She enjoyed gardening. Her yard was admired by many, and she was proud of it. Her knowledge of plants was impressive. She could name any plant at first glance. We will remember Karen for her endearing stubbornness. She was a force to be reckoned with, but she loved her family fiercely and deeply. Most of her weekends were spent with a houseful of grandkids. Even friends of the grandkids were welcome and would visit often; it was an open house, and everyone knew her as “G-ma” or “Grandma”. There was never a shortage of food or board games at Grandma’s house. Karen was also known within the family as “Angelica” from the Rugrats cartoon. Her nephew Parker gave her this nickname and she owned it! Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. We will miss Karen dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with her. Karen was predeceased by her parents William E. “Bill” Krapff and Alice Krapff; husband Frog and son Jeffrey Forgue. She is survived by her daughter Brandi Rowley and husband David and their children Braxton, Tucker, Zeb, Draegon, Axel and Creed; son Dustin and wife Jessica and their children Sterling and Marley; grandson Jacob and wife Karli and their child Avery; granddaughter Jesika; brother Fred and wife Fran; brother David; brother Mark and wife Carrie; sister Cheryl Privett and husband Mike; sister Terrie Swinney and husband Clarke; brother-in-law Tom; and many, many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
