Funeral Service Friday, December 4th, 2015 - 02:00 PM - Arlington Memory Gardens Chapel 3400 North Midwest Blvd - Oklahoma City, OK - 73141 Kathy was born to Mildred Julia and Oscar Cleveland (Jack) Wise in Riverside, California. She attended Sooner Rose Elementary, Jarman Junior High and Midwest City High School. After high school Kathy worked at the Journal Record Newspaper before attending OSU Nursing School. Drs. Nelson/Randals, Dr. Donor and Dr. Quillan Hughes all had the pleasure of working with Kathy on their nursing staff. In 1980, she opened Kathy's Kloset in MWC. Shortly after, Kathy added a second location and moved the main store to Douglas Blvd. where it remained for 25 years. Her Paseo store opened in 2000 and continues to provide ladies clothing today. In 1990, Kathy started the Brass Menagerie, a jewelry manufacturing company. Brass Menagerie designed and sold to shops in all 50 states and 5 countries employing 15 designers and sales representatives around the world. Voted friendliest business person, in OKC, by the Oklahoma Gazette, Kathy was featured over the years in Women's Wear Daily, Oklahoma Today Magazine and other local and National publications. Her television appearances always brought a smile. In 2000, she started Kathy's Market on Paseo, held in conjunction with the long running Paseo Arts Festival. For the next 15 years Kathy thoroughly enjoyed meeting new friends and seeing old ones every Memorial Day weekend. In her career, she brought care, clothing and gifts to the people of Oklahoma City for over 40 years. Kathy loved her garden, enjoying time in the sun, shopping, and being the center of attention. She especially loved time with her family, having a lunch or just sitting and talking. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Christopher Todd Travis, sister, Bethel Ann Osborne, father, Jack Wise, step-father Milburn Morrison and her dear friend Dorothy Jones. Kathy is survived by husband, John, son, Craig Travis and fiancee, Joe Coffin, brother, Craig and Patty Wise, brother, Lowell and Lori Wise, brother, Lloyd and Debbie Morrison, nieces and nephews, Dane, Preston, Jennifer, Jeff Wise and Amber Morrison, step-daughters, Michelle and Bobby Clark, and Monica Defee, grandson, Hunter Paul. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her lifelong friends, Dr. Paul and Reda Miller and friend, Mark Hatcher.
