Kenswell "Kody" Otho Dewey, aged 39, passed away on Friday, March 24th, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. A Celebration of Life service for Kody will be held on Monday, April 17th at 1 pm at The Church of Acts located at 1320 SW 38th St, Oklahoma City, OK, officiated by Pastor Bryon Akerman. Following the service, Kody will be laid to rest at Spring Creek Memorial Cemetery, 14300 N County Line Road in Oklahoma City, OK at 2 pm.
Born on February 2nd, 1984 at Hemphill County Hospital in Canadian, TX, Kody was the child of Kenneth O. Dewey and Teresa A. Lingg. He attended grade school in Chickasha, OK, middle school in Tulsa, OK, and high school at John Marshal in Oklahoma City, OK. Kody received his HVAC degree from Rose State College in Midwest City, OK, and Vatterott College in Oklahoma City, OK.
Kody will be deeply missed by his mother Teresa Annette Lingg of Oklahoma City, daughter SkyAnne Marie Dewey of Oklahoma City, father and stepmother Kenneth and Jennifer Dewey of Sugar Land, TX, brothers Willie Chris Briggs of Arlington, TX, Kirk Bryan Briggs of Bremerton, WA, Thomas and Jack Dewey both of Sugar Land, TX, two nieces, two great nieces, one great nephew all from the Fort Worth area, three aunts, two uncles, several cousins, and many cherished friends.
Kody was known for his kindness and compassion, and his fun-loving spirit made him greatly loved by many. He believed in prayer, love, kindness, and giving to others. He enjoyed drawing and painting to create meaningful artwork for his loved ones and had a love for animals, music, his country, and his family. Above all, he believed that Jesus was the Son of God and the Savior of his soul.
