Larry Joseph Cotter was born January 4, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas to Stephen Joseph Cotter and Mildred Pearl Glassell. Dad attended Chaplin Kapaun High School and later received his Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts at Wichita State University. In the early 60’s he moved his family to Oklahoma City during Moore’s First building boom to become a homebuilder. After the building bust in the 80’s, he attended Oklahoma City University and acquired a Masters Degree in International Business and Marketing. He then began his teaching career traveling the world. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Ireland and England were among his favorite teaching assignments. He enjoyed being a homespun ambassador from Oklahoma to the many international guest he entertained over the years. Dad was a body builder at the “The Weight Room” for decades, and a member of the OKC Gourmet Club. He enjoyed drag racing, photography, snow skiing, corvettes, hanging around the swimming pool, telling “dad jokes” and a cocktail or three. Dad enjoyed life, enjoyed people, and especially enjoyed being a grandfather. He will be greatly missed by many. Larry is survived by his three children; Joe Cotter (Jackie) of Blanchard, Catherine Keeton (Kevin) of Tuttle, and Patricia Morgan (Jeff) of OKC, grandchildren; Sarah Clift, Cassiopeia Cotter, Riley Cotter, Madison Morgan, Chase Morgan, and great granddaughter Mia Parker. Larry is also survived by his Longtime companion Karen Ruby and her family.
