Dr. Larry W. Dye, 58, passed away August 10th, 2009, after a yearlong battle with melanoma. He was born May 28th, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was a graduate of Putnam City Original in 1969.  He received his BA from Oklahoma Baptist University, a Masters Degree from Central State University and his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 1983.  He had been in private practice as Northwest Mental Health Associates for the past 20 years.  He was a member of the American Psychological Association. "Find joy in everything you do" was Larry"™s philosophy and he found much joy in his many interests, among which were painting and photography.  He found his inspiration on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Paseo District in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He enjoyed hiking in the Pecos National Forest and boating and fishing at Lake Eufaula, where the family has had a place for several years.  Throughout his life, he explored various activities including cycling, writing, hunting, music and Cowboy Action Shooting. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents; Robert and Ethel Spencer of Harrah, OK, Jesse and Hattie Dye of Nicoma Park, OK, Uncle Joe Dye, Nicoma Park, OK, Aunt Nelda Ward, Oklahoma City, OK, and very dear friend Tony Albano of Yukon, OK.  He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kelly.  To continue his legacy are daughters Jennifer Fricke, husband Rob and special grandson, Caden of Edmond, OK and Jamie Dye, of Oklahoma City, OK.  Also his mother; Robbie Moeller, OKC, father; Jesse Dye, Costa Rica, brothers; Rick and wife DeAnn Dye, Gary and wife Innis, all of Harrah, OK, sister; Robin Dye of Boca Raton, FL, Ralph and Neva O"™Donnell, Kathy and much beloved brother-in-law; Dave all of OKC, Kerry and Jeff Hughes, Shannon and Greg Smith all of Edmond, OK and many aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank all those who encouraged Larry with cards, prayers and calls during his illness.  Trish, you are a trooper. Private family services will be held this fall at Lake Eufaula. Larry"™s body was donated for medical research.  Memorials in Dr. Larry Dye"™s name can be made to The University of Texas M. D.
