Leigh Ann Heusel - wife, mother, and grandmother was born in Kansas City, MO on March 26, 1956. She married John Randolph Heusel on April 17, 1987 and lived 26 wonderful years together. Leigh and John had two daughters, Jessica Leigh Heusel who is married to Norman Martinez and Jennifer Ann Heusel. Leigh moved to Stillwater in the 1970's and worked as an Executive Housekeeper at Ramada Inn/Best Western for 12 years. After this, she was supervisor at the OSU Student Union in many food court operations for 15 years. During these 15 years at the OSU campus, Leigh met several coworkers and freinds that she learned to love and care for. Her favorite job was being a barista, she always strived for perfection and customers sought her out for her professionalism and freindliness. She worked for OSU until her health problems impacted her job and disabled her from working. Leigh always dreamed of being the owner of a puppy farm because of her love for animals. She loved to collect rocks and gems, and gathered many memories by finding them on vacations and outings. This developed into having a rock garden outside of her home. She was a girl scout leader for both of her daughters when they were young. Leigh was always a caring and loving person who tried her hardest to make others around her happy, especially her family. Her smile could light up the world. Leigh had three grandchildren Houston, Austin, and Evelynn Rose Martinez. The last one and a half years of her life were devoted to raising her youngest grandchild Evelynn, and this made her very happy. She fought very hard in the last few years of her life, and her granddaughter helped keep her going. Her Surviving family members are Cay McCauley, Patty McFarland, and Bruce (Mac) McFarland who are currently residing in Kansas City, MO. She was the youngest of the four siblings. She also has a mother-in-law Inez E Heusel, who lives in Oklahoma City, OK. and her brother and sister-in-law Mike and Sherrel Sheriff. As a cancer survivor, Leigh knew how to fight for her life and spent the last few years of her life fighting for every moment she could have left with us. Leigh developed the chronic disease of COPD and passed away from a CO2 Narcosis on July 10, 2013, struggling so hard for each breath. John, Jessica, and Jennifer were there holding her hand and hugging her until her last breath on earth. With her family at her side, she went calmly and peacefully ready to make her way to the pearly gates. In heavan, she will be joining her parents Charles and Dorothy McFarland whom she has truly missed and her husband's father Gerald B. Heusel whom she had never met but has many stories to tell about her family and the wonderful life she has lived with his son. Her celebration of life services will be at a later date when all family can gather together and remember Leigh's glorious life..
