Memorial service to be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2011 at New Covenant Bible Church located at 4230 S. Youngs Blvd, Oklahoma City 73119 Lloyd Maples went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 17, 2011. He was one of the most endearing and caring men who will be sorely missed. "Wisdom" is justified of her children, and the graciousness and success of the life of Lloyd is manifested in his wife, in his children, in his grand children and in his great-grandchildren. Lloyd E. Maples, born November 7, 1922 in Duke, Oklahoma.  He married Sylvia Prickett on September 3, 1949.  Lloyd proudly served his country in WWII in the Philippines from 1943-1946.  He returned home to Edmond, Oklahoma where he found his lovely bride to be, Sylvia, the love of his life. They have resided in the same home since 1949 in Edmond.  Lloyd and Sylvia had five children, Brenda, Becky, Deanna, Walter and Raechel. Lloyd and Sylvia's family grew until they had nine grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Lloyd worked at Tinker AFB retiring in 1978 after 30 years of civil service. Lloyd and Sylvia attended a bible study for several years.  Lloyd suggested starting our own church and with the agreement of all, New Covenant Bible Church was founded in 2000.
