With the peace that passes all understanding, on April 26th, 2009, Lois Evelyn Torres completed her purpose in this life and was escorted into Heaven, to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Lois was born on August 23, 1925, the youngest of three daughters, to her parents Ralph Willard and Luella Emmons in Kirksville, Missouri. After completing her education, Lois went to work for the telephone company in Kirksville, MO. In 1947 she married George R. Torres and moved to Oklahoma City, before starting a family. She was a wife, homemaker, and mother who supported her family in their many endeavors. Prior to her long- fought battle with Alzheimer"™s, Lois was an active member of First Baptist Church in Edmond. Her passion for gardening and ability to make any house a warm inviting home, were just a few of the hallmark gifts that characterized her as a beautiful woman of many talents. She enjoyed traveling immensely and entertained those in charge of her care, with stories from her past, until Alzheimer"™s robbed her of voice and mental clarity. Her children, Dario, Georgeann and Anita, her stepchildren, George and Darlene, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren all of her nephews and nieces, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, survive her. She will be greatly missed. Lois"™s daughter Anita and son-in-law Hugh would like to express their gratitude to the staff and administration of The Fountains at Canterbury for their excellent care. They also wish to thank Frontier Hospice for their faithful service and compassionate love for Lois during her last year of life on earth, and steadfastly supporting her family until her passing. Special thanks to G. Murray for her dedication to being a good and faithful servant. Well done to one and all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer"™s Association, or American Hospice Foundation.
