Lowell “Gayle” Fields met his maker on Saturday morning, October 8, 2011. He was born on February 11, 1931 in Oklahoma City to Arthur and Clarice Fields, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his wife of 50 years, Loretta Fields, and his son, Steven Gayle Fields. He is survived by his daughter, Rosanne Fields Rowe, husband Robert Rowe of Bethany; his grandson Brennan Appling, and great grandson, Ozzie Appling both of Bethany. He is also survived by 3 brothers: Carroll Don Fields of Oklahoma City; Virgil Gray Fields and wife Vicki of Alva; Arnold Phill Fields and wife Carol of Mustang; as well as one sister, Delia Ann Coy and husband Charles of Eufaula, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews. He had a passion for life and loved his Lord Jesus Christ, attended Church at the 24th Street Church of Christ, where he lifted his voice in praise with a beautiful tenor voice for many years. He enjoyed watching the birds in the backyard at his home. He also loved football from playing in high school to watching his favorite teams, both college and professional. He joined the US Marines and was honorably discharged in 1960. He learned machining from his father and taught his son and grandson and worked for Industrial Machine Company for a number of years as their Shop Foreman, and later opened his own business B & G Machine Service which eventually merged with Applied Industrial Machine (AIM) where he retired in early 2005. He was generally thought of as one of the best in the business and had an excellent reputation. He was a devoted family man, husband, father and brother. Everyone he met was a friend and he was loved and respected by many. He lived his life with dignity, honesty, and grace with a little humor thrown in the mix. He will be missed in this life by all who knew him.
