Mom, Grammy, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years, on Wednesday morning, June 29th, 2022, at her residence in Oklahoma City.
Marion Gertrude (Anne) Meyer was born May 15, 1923, in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late James and Marion Roche. She was raised and attended College in Boston before moving to Los Angeles, California where she met her husband. They were married in Hingham, Massachusetts on May 28, 1955.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, HJ Meyer and her sister, Ginny.
Mom was a lifelong devout Roman Catholic, and a teacher, airline stewardess, child advocate (CASA) and homemaker. She enjoyed travel and was wonderfully devoted to her 6 children Julia Cain, Amanda Powell, Mary Griffy, Jamie Walker, John Meyer and Martha Pailes. She was a loving Grandmother to Veronica, Jim, Elizabeth, Kathleen, Melissa, Amanda, Johnny, Aly and Ana and Great Grandmother to Ava, Ayla, Adam, Charlotte, Evangeline, Opal and Reece.
Mom was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. We will miss her every day.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Anne’s family will serve as pallbearers.
Thanks to everyone for your prayers and condolences.
Special thanks to Anna for bringing Mom communion every week and praying with her, the wonderful caregivers: Lilibet, Hope, Jamie Hendrix and the aides at The Waterford and to our sister Mandy and brother John who provided invaluable care to Mom for many years.
