Mark Constantine Slater, 57, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on March 19, 2020. He was born to parents Rudolph Slater and Sheila Davidson Slater, on April 5, 1962 in Hanover, Jamaica. Though he was born in the islands he spent most of his life in Queens, New York where he married his beloved wife and started a family. Mark met Joycelyn Slater in 1983 and they were married on March 25, 1990 in Brooklyn New York. Together they raised 4 children: Brittany, Shaina, Malik, Marcus. Mark also had a daughter, Kristen, from a previous relationship. In 2000, Mark relocated to Oklahoma and to studied Psychology at Cameron University, graduating with a Bachelors Degree. Mark loved psychology but chose to work as a Truck Driver in the Petroleum field for 12 years. In 2019 after 12 years of service, he retired from Triple Transport In his spare time, he enjoyed music, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, reading his bible, and counseling others. Mark is survived by his wife Joyce, his 5 children, seven grandchildren, three sisters Patricia, Louise, and Angela, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by both his parents, and Grethel Bailey, his maternal grandmother. The family has entrusted Corbett Funeral & Cremation with the arrangements. A Private Family Memorial Service is scheduled for March 27, 2020 with Pastor Terrell McCoy officiating the ceremony.
