Dr. Mark Leslie Wellington

In the early morning of Monday, April 9th, Dr. Mark Leslie Wellington, age 57, tragically passed away of complications from Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma. His unexpected and accelerated deterioration caught him and his family by surprise but he was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his passing. Diagnosed on April 6th of 1991, he fought for 27 years while enthusiastically living his life to the fullest and inspiring those around him. He was a South OKC family practice physician for 26 years. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, in 1979 where he prospered with his loving family until the time of his passing. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Betty Wellington, as well as his brother, Mike Wellington. He is also survived by his wife, Alice, and his two sons, Ryan and Benjamin. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 17th and the location will be LifeChurch, Edmond Campus (4600 E 2nd St.).
