Max Montgomery passed away at the age of 80 on February 24th, 2022, in Oklahoma City. Max was born on March 23rd,1941, in Enid, Oklahoma. He lived in Ames, Oklahoma for much of his childhood; he attended Ames Public School and Enid High School. From 1959 to 1962, he served in the U.S. Navy. Max and Paula Nigh were united in marriage on August 30th, 1968, in Oklahoma City. Max's faith was central to his life. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City, where he was a lay reader and sang in the choir. He was also an active volunteer with The Gideons International. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Virginia Montgomery; his twin sister Marilyn Lou; and his sister Jelene Montgomery Kennison. He is survived by Paula, his wife of 53 years, as well as his nieces, nephews and their families. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 9th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Corbett Funeral and Cremation, 807 W. Wilshire Blvd, Oklahoma City. The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 10th, at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1800 NW 36th Street in Oklahoma City. Burial will be March 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Ames Cemetery in Ames (Major County), Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Max's memory to The Salvation Army.
