Melba Reid

Melba Kale Gahagan-Reid 90, passed away September 26, 2011. She was born December 20, 1920 in Milburn, Oklahoma to Henry Ace and Lurena Cheadle Kale. Early in her life she was a florist in Freer, Texas where she did many weddings. Later she worked for Stromberg Carlson in Gene Autry, Oklahoma where she retired in the early 1980's. She is survived by her son Don Gahagan and wife Joyce of Oklahoma City, Grandchildren Kevin Gahagan and wife Debbie of Forth Worth, Texas, Scott Gahagan and wife Linda of Saginaw, Texas and Mike Gahagan & wife Debbie of Weatherford, Texas. five great grand children and seven great great grand children. Two brothers Hank Kale of Ardmore and Doug Kale of Austin, Texas. She was preceeded in death by her husband Clarence Reid, two sisters Ramona Slater and Helen Stokes and five brothers Wilson (Curly) Kale, Claywood (Tex) Kale, Jack Kale, Kenneth (Chee) Kale and Carroll (Buck) Kale. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, located at 501 W. Main Street in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
