Michael Garvey

d. May 17, 2010

Michael Jolly Garvey, 56, of OKC, died on May 17, 2010, after an extended illness. Mike was born on June 15, 1953, the 3rd of three sons, to Lloyd and Dorothy Garvey, in Sacramento, CA. His family settled in Oklahoma / TAFB in 1958. Mike attended school at Corpus Christi, and John Carroll, before graduating from Bishop McGuiness Catholic High School in 1971. Mike was a self-employed locksmith for many years, until his health declined. Mike met his wife, Connie (McGee) in January 1981. Their only child, Andrew Michael, was born on June 29, 1992. Mike adored Andy, and was a great dad. Mike was given the gift of life by a liver transplant on December 23, 2001. His family is eternally grateful to the donor family for giving our family more time with Mike. Mike was a smart, sweet, crazy, funny, happy-go-lucky guy. He loved golf, good food, travel, fishing, watching his son grow up, and spending time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Mike was predeceased by his father Lloyd Garvey. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Garvey, OKC, his wife Connie, and their son Andy, of the home in OKC, his brother Dan Garvey, and wife Karen, Edmond, and their children, Anna and Hans Averling, Dallas, Kathryn and Dusty Nimmo, Norman, and Alison and Dan Snider, Colorado, brother Pat Garvey, and his wife, Diane, OKC, and their children, Joe Garvey (Christin) Edmond, and John Garvey, OKC, special brother-in-law, Patrick McGee, Arizona, and brother-in-law Mickey McGee, his wife Penny, and their children Jenny and Rachel, Arkansas, plus three great nephews and one great niece. He loved them all. Mike is also survived by a multitude of friends who loved him, and will never forget his wit, his smile, and all the fun times they had together. Mike made every situation more fun, just by being there.
