Mike Piccalo was a great husband and father. He left this world at age 63 on August 27, 2010 to join The Lord"™s band in heaven as their bass player. Mike"™s goals in life were always to make music, & to protect Loren & myself by keeping us safe, loved & cherished. Many musicians & friends said that Mike was a natural, brilliant, & perfectly "˜right on"™ blues bass player. He was the cornerstone & driving force to many fine musicians & groups. "“Thank you to all! I always felt that being able to express yourself with your musical abilities was a gift from God & that Mike"™s main job was to entertain & share that gift with others. Mike pleasured many thousands of people over his life with music. He always said something to the effect "if they only knew that I would play music for free!" I always admired the fact that Mike was able to make a living doing something he truly loved! He was so LUCKY!! The one thing every musician remembers (besides duck tape, & crazy glue) is that first time that everything "˜clicked"™. I will always remember Iron Horse Exchange (Mike, Ted, Dennis & Steve). I was witness to their learning process. I saw how they each learned how to work together, live together, & have joy together. Mikes crowning glory was 3-9-82, the day our daughter Loren came into our lives. She changed us forever. One last venture was being invited to share a home with Loren and her love Quinton. We had a great 9 months together, the 4 of us. It was a dream come true. Lord, We commend the soul of Mike Piccalo to your care. We are confident in your just and loving mercy. We also ask that you watch over those of us who loved and admired him. Please give us strength and courage for the journey, challenges and changes ahead. Lord keep us always in your care, deep in our faith and grant us the light of your hope and love, even in our darkest days. All we can do now is to put our lives into your hands and trust that all things will work to your goodness. Amen.
