Nita "Chris" Sue Droke

Nita Sue "Chris" Droke, nee Lucia, was born on March 24, 1958 and died on September 11, 2019 at the age of 61. Chris was born in Pampa, Texas and adopted into her loving family at 6 months and lived in amarillo. In 1966 they moved to Oklahoma City and lived in The Village are, She attended John Marshall High School and met Kerry Drole on her 18th birthday. From that day forward they were together and married on November 24, 1976. They had two wonderful children, Christopher Kerry and Jennifer Grace. Chris' passion was arts and crafts, drawing inspiration from her mother who taught Sunday school. Her tastes varied from creating greeting cards and signs, making jewelry, woodwork and wreaths. On the door her craft room hung a sign "My Happy Place," she was there as often as she could unless she "needed" to go to Hobby Lobby or Dollar Tree for even more supplies. She was always inviting friends and family over to share dinner and have conversation or play games. You couldn't just say hello to her, she wanted a hug from everyone. She could strike up a conversation with anyone t the grocery store or elsewhere, making them smile before she left. When she was out, her favorite thing to do when she spotted a member of the police or fire department, ws to go over and shake their hand and thank them for their service. "Nobody tells these people how much they are appreciated," she would say. Chris is survived by her husband and children, two sisters, a niece and nephew, cousins and many friends and neighbors.
