With deep sadness, the family of Norma Milthorpe (nee Henderson) announces her passing November 12, 2019 after a brief illness, while enroute home to Collingwood from Tucson. A beautiful wife, mother and grandmother, Norma had 82 years of adventures. She leaves many happy memories to her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert, five children: Leslie-Anne Gogou (Evan), Judith Banville (Edward), Randy (Carey Thorpe), Linda, and Christine Flannigan (Bruce), and eight grandchildren: Sarah Kathleen, Graham, Allyson, Kristin, Bryanna, Evangeline, Madison, and Carson, and to her siblings Ross, Donald and Joan. Norma was born to Jack and Marjorie Henderson in Toronto October 28, 1937. She married Bob at age 18, quickly giving him the family of little blond kids he so desired. Norma was the chief wrangler and cook at home and for epic family road trips to Arizona and Florida, the cottage, skiing, camping, and gatherings of the Henderson clan. She ran the office for Bob's businesses, sewed clothes, led a Girl Guide group, enjoyed bowling and crossword puzzles, putting her heart into everything she did. She and Bob loved spending time with their grandchildren and attending their events. Gone too soon and too suddenly, she was the wind beneath our wings and will be so missed. Family and close friends will gather to celebrate her life in North York December 18. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, Salvation Army, or a mental health charity would be appreciated.
