Sample Sr. & Pearlene Hunt Curry. He attended Lincoln High School in Altus, Oklahoma. In 1995, Oscar met Annette Sample and they courted each other until March 31, 2001 when they officially became man and wife. On that day they became “The Brady Bunch Plus 2.” Oscar started his career at a Funeral Home, but decided that dressing the deceased was not for him. He then became a Presser at Grace Cleaners where he was a dedicated employee for 20 years. He furthered his career at All Pro Cleaners and retired after 14 years, when his health began to fail him. Oscar dressed to impress and always had on nice smelling cologne. Oscar was a family man and loved LSU & The Saints. He loved his Jazz music, spending time with his family and his beloved dog Princess. Oscar was a faithful member of Revival Worship Center in Oklahoma City for 27 years. On October 27, 2019 Oscar received The Deacon Certificate of Ordination. He was also apart of the Men’s Gospel Group at church. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, O.D. Sample Sr, Pearlene Hunt Curry, his son Oscar Dewayne Sample, his great-granddaughter Sha’Quailty Cox, his brothers Vincent Curry & Larry Sample, his sisters Lawanda Shelton, Pearlie Mae Randall, & Laverne Sheppard. Oscar leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Annette Sample, his children Lonzetta Sample-Steele (Daran), Natasha Sample, Akeem Olajuwon Sample (Katie), Fredricka Carpenter, Joseph Zackery Sr. (Camaara), Chiquitha Zackery (Terrell), Teairo Keyes, & Teanna Keyes, his brothers Tim Curry & Kenneth Curry (Joy), 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his beloved dog Princess, and a host of family and friends. Special thanks to our granddaughter Briaunna Anderson for stepping up and helping to care for your grandfather. You not only took care of him, but you took care of me also by helping whenever I needed it. Love you big girl, Love Granny & Papa.
