Patricia Steele Dove, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, November 17. Pat was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 25, 1931, the oldest of two daughters born to Robert and Dorothy Steele. While attending high school there, she met the love of her life, George W. Dove and they married on December 22, 1951. When George was transferred to Carswell AFB with the US Air Force, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas where they had the first of 3 sons while Pat attended Texas Weslyan College. After leaving the Service, George went to work for Pan Am Airlines and Pat made a home for their family on Long Island New York, where she blessed him with two more sons. Pat was devoted to her family and friends, and when George became employed with the Federal Aviation Agency, she remained his constant throughout the many moves the family made. They lived and made lifelong friends in places such as Fort Worth, Atlanta, Lubbock and Oklahoma City, where they eventually settled for good after their third time to move here. Pat loved her career as a teacher’s aide working with special needs children, where her firm and loving personality enabled so many youngsters to feel the accomplishment of helping themselves do the everyday things that are taken for granted. Pat and George retired in 1994 and spent their time divided between Angel Fire, New Mexico where they had a vacation home, and traveling to visit family and friends all over the United States. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, George; sons Scott and his wife Ceil, of Flint Hill, Virginia and their 4 sons Justin, Brian, Jenkins and Reed; son Chris and his wife Julie, of Hurst, Texas and their sons Patrick, Daniel and Andrew; and son Mark and his wife Becky, of Denver Colorado and their daughters Emily and Shelby and son Steele; sister Jackie Jackson, and her husband Bob and their 3 children Dale, Gary and Judy. Services will be held at a future date.
