Peggy Oliphint, 76, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Wayne and Avis Rozell. She was born on April 5, 1935 in Oilton, Oklahoma and died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at University of Oklahoma Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In the late 1930s Peggy’s parents moved to Chandler, Oklahoma where she lived most of her childhood as one of six children in the Rozell family. She was a graduate of Chandler High School in 1953, and then went on to attend college at Oklahoma State University. She graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics Education. She began her first teaching career in Braman, Oklahoma where she was the Home Ec. Teacher as well as sponsor for the Future Homemakers of America. Eventually she moved on to a teaching position in Gilbert, Arizona for several years, then Bagdad, Arizona before deciding to return to Oklahoma. She taught Home Ec. at Dale, Oklahoma for several years, before leaving the teaching field and becoming the Activities Director at Four Seasons Nursing Home in northwest Oklahoma City, where she worked for many years. December 7, 1973 she married Wesley Jones, who passed away in 1996. On December 7, 1998 she married Scott Oliphint. Peggy was a kind and generous person, who loved people. Her daughter Patty was the joy of her life. She was so proud to be the grandmother of 4 wonderful grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and growing flowers, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, friends and her church community. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday December 9, 2011 at the Portland Avenue Pentecostal Holiness Church in Oklahoma City. Rev. Floyd Been will officiate. Peggy is survived by her husband Scott Oliphint of the home; a daughter, Patty Graf and her husband, Chuck of Yukon, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Preston, Zachery, Ryan and Addison; two brothers, Wayne Rozell and his wife Karen of Chandler, Ok; Dennis Rozell and his wife Cheryl of OKC; and one sister, Linda Knecht and her husband, Paul of Perry, OK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Jones, both of her parents and two sisters, Virginia Watson and Myrna Tacker.
