Peggy Lee Smith

Peggy Bell Smith passed away May 17, 202 at her home in Oklahoma City surrounded by family. She was born September 14, 1930 in Ames OK to the late Kermit and Mary Bell. She attended school in Ames and graduated from high school in 1948. In school she participated in basketball and enjoyed roles in the school plays. Later in life she enjoyed her family and traveling. One of her favorite destinations was San Antonio Texas where she visited friends and family. At Cora"s she liked to eat nachos and peach cobbler with ice cream. Her travels took her to Asheville, NC, Petal, MS, Portland OR and many other cities. She attended various sporting events including the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Royals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns and the Oklahoma City Thunder . She had University of Oklahoma Sooner season tickets. Peggy loved people and never met a stranger. She spent most of her life working as a waitress. 15 years of her career was spent working at Scott's Generations Deli in Phoenix, AZ. She also worked 18 years for the Phoenix Suns and after moving to Oklahoma City she worked for the Oklahoma City Thunder. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jim and one sister Dixie. She is survived by one brother Danny and one sister Tura Lu. She is also survived by her six children Linda of OKC, OK, Saundra (Ron) of San Antonio, TX, Tom (Pam) of San Antonio, TX, Barbara (Ken) of Petal, MS, Clay (Renee) of Pawnee, OK, and Lisa of Maggie Valley, NC. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren Jack Graham, Waco (Julie) Richards, Tyler (Dommic) Slattery, Nicole Stewart (Tim) Alyce Stewart (Gabe) Thomas Stephens, Rachel (Jeremy) Martin, Sam (Payton) Stephens, Craig Womack, Dylan Stephens, Zakarie Thompson, Jacobie (Lauren) Wolf, Courtney Hoglan, Kristian Clark. She is survived by 13 great grand children Peyton (Joseph) Parrish, Chaz (Brandi) Graham, Maverick (Hunter) Graham, Bryce Wren, Kalysta Cook, Kiarra Plummer, Breannah Bell, Sean Stephens, Eden Stewart, Kendall Slattery, Savannah Martin, Leo Martin, Sloane Stephens, and Jaxson Graham. She was survived by 5 great great grandchildren Dakota, Kylie, Holland and Kal Parish and Maxleigh Graham. Finally, she is survived by nieces and nephews and many friends. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Quail Springs Baptist Church, 14613 N. May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73134.
