Robert Bolend Hardy, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, in Oklahoma City. Born Feb. 15, 1945, in Tulsa, Bob was the youngest son of Judge Milton W. and Dorothy K. Hardy, and grandson of one of the first Chief Justices of the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, and of the acting First Lady of Oklahoma during two terms of bachelor governors. While at Will Rogers High School, Bob was selected as one of only 64 students in the U.S. for a study abroad program designed to promote international understanding. Bob earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in 1968 and began working in the financial services industry. He also continued to travel and serve others; providing aid to earthquake victims in then-Soviet Armenia, delivering bread in Bombay, and even providing job-skills training to young adults with disabilities back home in Oklahoma. Bob worked for a variety of banks, mortgage lenders, and other related businesses in the Tulsa area, and continued that work when he moved to Oklahoma City. To honor his love of travel, Bob even served as a customer service representative for Southwest Airlines. The 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner participated in myriad parades, charitable programs, fundraisers, and other events with Delta Lodge No. 425. He is survived by his life partner, Lloyd Stidham, of the home; brother Milton William Hardy of Tulsa; two daughters, Kimberly Siegrist (husband Robert) of Tulsa, and Jennifer Hardy of Tulsa; and one grandson, Christopher Siegrist of Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Rex. The Oklahoma City funeral service for Bob is scheduled for 10 am Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at The Castle Falls Grand Hall (820 N. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73127). Tulsa graveside service will be noon on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at Memorial Park Cemetery (5111 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK 74145).
