Bob Steward, 71, a longtime resident of Claremore, OK, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in Oklahoma City, OK. Bob was born Wednesday, August 3, 1938 in Okmulgee, OK to Dwight Raymond and Floy Opal (Rice) Steward. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Claremore. He worked for Powell Packing Plant and Piggly Wiggly stores for many years as a butcher. Bob eventually retired from the Wal-mart Supercenter in Claremore, OK. He also helped with Woody"™s Auction for over 25 years. Bob entered the USAF in 1958 and was honorably discharged to USAF Reserve until 1964 do to family hardship. Survivors include two sons: Scott and Cara Steward of San Bernardino County, CA, Michael and Kara Steward of Powell, OH; one step-son: David Dobbs of Stillwell, OK; and four step-daughters: Gwynn Dobbs, Raedeen Pollard, Allison & Kenny Pogue of Springfield, MO and Donell and Gary Tibbit of Stillwell, OK, 14 grand children and 8 great-grand children. He is preceded in death by his father, mother and sister. His memorial service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Harvest Baptist Church in Claremore, OK. Rev. Tim Lindsay will officiate with assistance from C.H. McGrew and Louie Gasaway. Bob chose to be an organ and tissue donor in order to help others.
