Rosalie Stewart, 87, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, was born in Sallisaw, OK to Bill and Alta Sumpter Byrd. She graduated from Sallisaw High School and married the love of her life, Wayne Stewart, in 1944. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1946 when Wayne went to work for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. There they lived for over 60 years, but part of their hearts would always remain in Sallisaw. Rosalie enjoyed a faith-filled life, spending time with family, cooking great meals and helping look after her two grandchildren. She was a member of First Christian Church of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two older brothers, Clifton and Bill Byrd. She is survived by her only sister, Donna Ann Betts; her daughter, Donna Cohn, and husband, Doug Estep; grandson, Zac Cohn, and fiancee, Carrie Boston; granddaughter, Dr Michell Cohn, and husband, Joe Sutherland; great-granddaughter, Jadyn Cohn Sutherland; special friends and cousins, Gilbert and Reba Green; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosalie is now with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her beloved Wayne. Memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Baptist Village Community of Oklahoma City on Tuesday, March 20, at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Baptist Village Community for their loving care of Rosalie for the last six years.
