On August 25, 2013 Sharletta Anne Essary (Frazier] Aweho departed this life to be rejoined with her Beloved Creator, as well as family and friends who have preceded her from this life. She was an incredible artist of sculpture, paintings, wood work and flutes. She was also an inspired composer, singer, flutist, drummer and writer. But of all the things she accomplished in her short life, she felt her greatest achievements were in being a mother and a friend to three completely awesome children {well now adults}: Jason, Matt and Robyn Frazier. Shar started life as a precocious daughter to James and Beverly Essary on October 8, 1957, in Oklahoma City. She attended Oklahoma City & Putnam City schools and later graduated from Tecumseh High School. She attended the University of Oklahoma School of Art for a time before launching into her creative career in Native American art. With her Big Heart, Open Door and devotion to her Sacred Beliefs she inspired us first. Later her courageous fight with cancer and her staunch determination to live or die on her own terms and as her own person, she made all who knew her want to be stronger, better people. We celebrate her… and we will truly, dearly miss her. Shar (as she is best known by her friends and family) was preceded from this life by her sister, Suzanne Essary, and her father James Essary; her paternal grandparents, Alvan and Mildred Essary and her maternal grandparents, Clark and Pearl Kelting. Shar is survived by her Mother Beverly Essary; her children Jason, Matt and Robyn Frazier; and grandson Jameson Frazier. She is additionally survived by her sister Carolynne and husband Michael Forbes, Carolynne’s daughters Ashley and Evonne Stacey; By her brother Don Essary and wife Lisa; their children Emily and Andrew Essary. She adopted a few along the way: her daughter, April Norton, her granddaughter & grandson Chandler Norton & Caleb d’Entremont. She had many adopted sisters. however honorable mention is given to those who took personal care of her during her last days: Judy Baker and son, Daniel Starkey; Leslie Plainfeather8; Gwyneth Mason and Devi Veal; also Ayanvli & Joseph GreyWolf and sons, Joshua, Jeffery, and Daniel. Her remaining large circle of close friends and extended family are too numerous to mention, but no less dearly cherished. Special appreciation is offered to the professional staff of caring doctors, nurses and medical personnel of the OU Health Sciences Center, Lifecare Oklahoma Hospice and Pastor Chad Brodrick along with members of Tecumseh First Assembly of God.
