Sharon Hensley

Sharon G. Hensley, 67, of Noble, OK, died February 14, 2012 in Oklahoma City. She was born on April 1, 1944, in Lexington, OK, to Rose Van Winkle and Elmo Mahurin. She is survived by her husband, Dale Hensley, and her sister, Carole Roberts, of Tucson, AZ. Sharon and Dale, teenage sweethearts, were married on January 8, 1962. They have three children, Coy, Misty, and Desiree. Sharon and Dale have many beloved grandchildren: Caylee, Cody and Madelyn Wells; Logan and Emily Hensley; and William and Glenn Carrington. Russel Wells, almost one, is their first great grandchild. Sharon chose early in her married life to dedicate herself to raising her children and grandchildren and caring for her home and family. She was a skilled cook and baker, a talented gardener, and an avid reader. She was a strong and generous person and loyal friend, who believed in doing right, even at great personal sacrifice. A graveside service will be held later this spring at Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sharon’s memory to Crossroads Hospice of OKC.
