Shauzey Valonti Akins, 19, lost her life after struggling for many years with mental health issues. Shauzey was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 7, 2004 at Mercy hospital.
Shauzey enjoyed spending her time playing video games with friends, practicing photography, and hanging out with friends, family, and her boyfriend Dathan. She loved creating and modifying her own clothes, decorating furniture, reading, and drawing. Shauzey and her mom would make a whole day of listening to music and going to thrift shops and plant stores. She especially admired her many animals she had, she loved and cared for a guinea pig, rat, snail, and a cat. She loved being outside enjoying nature. Additionally, she studied and cared for plants and collected vintage books and items. Shauzey had a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, and such a creative and goofy personality. She wasn’t afraid to be who she wanted to be.
Shauzey is deeply loved and survived by her mother Susan Rivera and father Carlos Akins. She was the sister of Jessica Rivera, Jonathon Rivera, Mareya Akins, Kyra Akins, and Amya Akins. She was the granddaughter of Mary Akins, Aubrey Akins Sr, Stella Farea, and Hector Farea. She was the niece of Shonsea Akins and Arbrey Akins Jr.
