Sheldon “DON” Ludington Stirling, Jr. November 30, 1947 – August 10, 2018 Preceded in death by his parents, Sheldon L. Stirling, Sr. and Edith Izon Stirling and his sister Patricia Stirling Culp. Devoted husband of 49 years to Debbie and loving father of Sheldon Andrew Stirling, Elizabeth Stirling Newton and Son-In-law Mark Newton, and Michael Ludington Stirling and Grandfather of Evelyn, Ingrid and Edith Stirling and Nicolas and Luke Newton. Don’s career in banking spanned 45 years. He started his career as a part –time teller and later became President of Charter National Bank, N.A. and retired as Vice President ofCommercial Lending with Mid First Bank in 2015. He was very proud of the contribution his efforts made to the growth and development of Oklahoma City and the impact it made to the lives of many individuals. Some of our best memories of Don are the summers we spent together as a family at Grand Lake, him playing his Beatles music on his guitar, and the annual Christmas Eve reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas. Don is known for his love of horse racing. He spent many happy days in the Remington Park Players Club with his “Track Buddies”. We love and miss you and you will always be in our hearts. Don received a kidney transplant that extended his life and gave us 5 more years with him.
