Stephen Bryan Foster was born on April 24, 1944 in Anderson, Indiana. He passed away at the age of 67 with his family at his side on January 13, 2012 in Edmond, OK. He was born the son of Bill Foster and Dorisjean Miller Foster Moneyhun. He married Margaret Faye Barnes on August 5, 1962. He graduated in 1961 from the Laurelbrook School in Dayton, TN. He received his Bachelors Degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. He joined the United States Navy in Indianapolis, Indiana. After 20 years of service he retired as a Chief Petty Officer Corpsman Navy Diver. He enjoyed a second career working with the Oklahoma Historical Society at Sequoyah's Home Site in Sallisaw, OK where he enjoyed giving everyone information about Sequoyah and the Cherokee Indians. He never met a stranger and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Survivors are his wife Margaret of the home; one son and daughter-in law, Stephen Bryan II and Laurie of McAlester, OK, and one Daughter, Darlene Kay Foster M.D. of Edmond, OK. 6 Grandchildren; Jame, Keifer, Bryan, Ashley and twins Alexandra and Emmerson, along with many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Susan Kay Delong, brother-in law Robert Delong, his uncle Max Miller, his aunt Peggy Miller and his cousin Connie Miller. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 21, 2012 at the Akins Baptist Church, Sallisaw, OK with Pastor Vernon Smith officiating. Cremation and burial will take place at a later date.
