Steven King

Reverend Steven Keith King, 60, of Oklahoma City, OK, walked through the Pearly Gates on Sunday, August 11, 2013.

Steven was born at Millington Naval Base, Millington, TN, on November 24, 1952. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1970. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marriage Counseling – Biblical Counseling – Substance Abuse Counseling from Southwest Bible College & Seminary. Steven is preceded in death by his mother, Edie Doris (Tice) King, his father, Clyde Jasper King, and his great-granddaughter, Addison Vining. 
Steven became an ordained minister for the Bible Missionary Church in 1986 and later ordained by the Nazarene Church in 1990. He was passionate about leading people to Christ and being a witness for God. He spread his love of the Lord through fellowship, singing, ministering, and humor. His positive spirit and love for people had a great impact on those he came in contact with. His spirit is alive in everyone who has ever known or met him. He has pastured in many churches in several states, California, Illinois, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. He was the pastor at the Portland Avenue Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma City, OK, since April 2008. Steven is survived by his loving wife, Jolene King, of 18 ½ years. His daughter Angela & husband, Thomas Smith of Sibley, LA; daughter Christina & husband, Cecil Allen of Laurinburg, NC; son Joshua & wife, Becky King of Chanute, KS; daughter Tammi Bunting of Mayflower, AR; sister Nancy & husband, Willie Cardin of Corinth, MS; brother Dick & wife, Lee King of Hot Springs, AR; step-daughter Amber & husband, Kevin Long of Yukon, OK; step-son Shane & wife, Patty Riggle of Yukon, OK. Steven has several grandchildren who miss him dearly; Cassie & husband, Luke Vining of Minden, LA;, Mark Smith of Doyline, LA; RJ Smith of Sibley, LA; Ashley, Kimberly, Page, & CJ King of Chanute, KS; Emmalee Allen of Laurinburg, NC; Jayden Bunting of Mayflower, AR; Jordi & Sofia Riggle of Yukon, OK; and Nathaniel Toth & Orianna Ortiz of Yukon, OK. He also has two great-granddaughters, Khloe Smith & Karmyn Vining of Minden, LA. Steven had two nephews, Sean & Michael Kerr.
