Steven Morris Rucker, born Sept. 10, 1951, in Harlingen, TX, passed away Apr. 21, 2012 in Oklahoma City, OK after extensive health issues. He is preceded in death by his father, Steve Morris Rucker of Danbury, TX, his mother Jo Anne Dee of Galveston, TX, and his sister Sharon Plaisance, of Galveston, TX. Steven is survived by daughters Michelle Lauree Jackson & husband TJ Jackson of Blanchard, OK, Lisa Green of Oklahoma City, OK, and son Steven Wylie & wife Stacy Wylie of Tuttle, OK; grandchildren Courtney, Tiffany, Aundria & Marisa Jackson, TJ Sweaney, Sarah Bartodej, and Samantha Tidwell; Sisters Lonna Gail Morra of Brazoria, TX, Regina Fehrle of Galveston, TX, and brothers Sterling Schofield of CA, and Buster Schofield of TX, many nieces, nephews and friends. Steve grew up in the state of Texas. He joined the Army as a teenager, and proudly served (2) tours in Vietnam. He devoted 37 years to the oil field, working both in-land and offshore, in the US, and internationally, including Saudi Arabia, India, Iraq, Indonesia and Canada. Steve was very proud of his accomplishments in oil field industry. He had specialized training and expertise in BOP Certified Subsea and Surface Drilling, Survival Training Offshore, Simulated Helicopter Crash Training, Lockout & Tagout, and Fire Safety on land & offshore. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 27th, 2012 at 3:00pm at Heritage Park Nursing Center 6912 NW 23rd Street Bethany, OK 73008 In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to: Heritage Park Nursing Center Attn: Joanna, Activities Director Please note Steven Rucker Memorial in the Memo section of checks, so that funds will be used for a new television for the residents to enjoy.
