Suzan Carney

March 14, 1945 — May 7, 2024

Bethany

In loving memory and with a profound sense of loss, we announce the departure of Mrs. Suzan Annette Carney from this earthly realm to the Kingdom of Heaven on the seventh day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-four. She was at the venerable age of seventy-nine. Born to the late Homer A. Thomas and Eunice L. Brooks Thomas Warren on the fourteenth of March, nineteen hundred and forty-five, in the town of Lindsey, Oklahoma, she was a woman of grace and dignity.

Known to her dear friends and family as "Susie," Mrs. Carney dedicated fifty-eight years to the noble art of cosmetology. Her beauty parlors were places of transformation and companionship, where her patrons not only found beauty but also solace and friendship. Her life's work became a testament to her enduring care and commitment to the well-being of others.

Together with her cherished husband, Mr. Steve H. Carney, with whom she was united in holy matrimony for twenty-nine years, Suzan embraced the joys of life with a spirit of adventure. They shared a love for the open road, exploring the country on their motorcycles, and cherished the tranquility found in nature through their camping endeavors.

Suzan's memory will be forever held in the hearts of her loving husband, Steve; her daughters, Ashley D. Teeters and Nicole D. Placker; her grandson, Jerad L. Placker, with his wife, Alyssia N. Carolina; and her great-grandsons, Jakovry L. Placker and J’aire L. Placker. She is also survived by her sister, Cherri L. Patee, and her husband, Bill B. Patee; her nephew, Jeremy W. Hall; her niece, Candice L. Shepherd, with her family; her sister-in-law, Patty Carey; and a blessed assembly of friends and relatives.

The Carney family invites all who were touched by Suzan's gentle soul to attend a service of remembrance, which will be held at Corbett Funeral & Cremation, 807 W Wilshire Blvd, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on the fourteenth day of May, in the year two thousand and twenty-four, at ten o'clock in the morning.

As we bid farewell to Suzan Annette Carney, we are comforted by the knowledge that her legacy of love, beauty, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us. Her life was a tapestry of joy, compassion, and beauty, woven through the lives of all she encountered. May her soul rest in eternal peace, as we carry her memory with us until we meet again in the everlasting embrace of our Creator.
