Thais Bailey

Thais M Bailey, 70, died September 4, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born May 13 1942, in Caracas, Venezuela. She grew up in Puerto Cabello where she lived with her grandmother whom she loved very much. Afterwards, she moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela, where she met Jack, her husband of 49 years. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter and son, and she adored her grandchildren. She loved taking care of her grandkids. They fondly remember dancing with her and getting “spoiled” by them. Thais loved her family and friends fiercely, and she will be missed by them every day. Thais was preceded in death by her grandmother Magdalena Leon, and her mother and father Carmen and Thomas Wickliff. She is survived by her husband, Jack E. Bailey of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter Melody Jaeger and husband Greg of Oklahoma City, OK; one son Jack Bailey and wife Terri of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 brothers Orlando Gonzales, of Venezuela and Thomas Wickliff of Edmond, OK; one sister Evelyn Gillarranz, of Venezuela; five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. At her request no services will be held, but a celebration of her life will be held at 9309 NW 133rd CT. Yukon, OK on September 15th from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The family would like to thank South Park East Nursing Home for the loving care of Thais for these past five years. Thais battled Lewy Body Dementia for over five years, and the employees at the nursing home treated her with respect, affection, and compassion. The family would also like to recognize Crossroads Hospice for their attentive care for the last few weeks of her life. Knowing that they were there with her gave the family peace.
