In Loving Memory of Tim Mark Hering
(October 7, 1953 – March 11, 2025)
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Tim Hering, who went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2025. Tim was a devoted child of God, a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and a great blessing to all who knew him.
Tim Hering was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 7, 1953, to Robert and Lois Hering. He was made a child of God through the waters of baptism and confirmed in the faith as a teen. Tim lived a life of faith, love, and service. He was known for his unwavering trust in God, his kindness, and his commitment to his family. Tim was blessed with four wonderful children whom he loved dearly: Mike, Matt, Joe, and Amanda. He married Amy in 1996 and they were blessed with almost 30 wonderful years together.
Tim’s faith was the foundation of his life, and he found great joy in serving his Lord and others. He was a faithful member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church where he was actively involved in many facets of leadership. His love for God was evident in his words and actions, touching the lives of many.
Throughout Tim‘s life, he designed road equipment at CMI, sold microelectronics for Lucent Technologies, assisted homebuyers at various mortgage companies, owned and operated Peachwave Bricktown, and finally served as COO of Peachwave Frozen Yogurt.
He is survived by his wife, Amy, sons Mike and Natalie Hering of Edmond, Oklahoma, Matt and Sarah Hering of Edmond, Oklahoma, Joe and Kelly Hering of Doral, Florida and daughter Amanda and Casey Hawkins of Edmond, Oklahoma, grandchildren Elisabeth and Seth McKenzie, Cole Hering, Kylah and Logan Hering, Alison and Ava Hering, and Colin Hawkins. He is further survived by his sister Kathy Hering of Watertown, Wisconsin, brother Tom and Linda Hering of Grafton, Wisconsin, brother John and June Hering of Rowlett, Texas, by his father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Pat Schneider of Watertown, Wisconsin, brothers, and sisters-in-law David and Kristin Schneider of Schertz, Texas, and Lisa and Randy Mensching of Watertown, Wisconsin, along with many loved nieces and nephews. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find peace in knowing that Tim is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois Hering.
A celebration of Tim’s victory through Christ will be held on Thursday, March 20th, at 2:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring his memory. A reception will follow at the church.
In the last comments that Tim posted on an online daily devotion that he enjoyed with members of his family, he captured the source of his confidence in a loving Savior. He wrote, “His love endures forever! In every circumstance, even in the ones we don’t understand, his love endures forever!” God is still good and we are still His!
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at OU Medical Center with special thanks to the staff in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit for their exceptional care and support during Tim’s illness. Memorial donations may be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church, continuing his legacy of faith and service.
