Twila Faye (Ledford) Hawkins

Twila Faye Hawkins, age 50 of Tecumseh, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 after a very courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 19, 1962 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Marvin “Pete” Ledford and Ora Mae (Goodnight) Ledford. Twila married Timothy Hawkins on June 23, 1980 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. For the past 26 years she had the most important job she ever wanted which was being a homemaker taking care of her children that she cherished. Twila (Ledford) Hawkins was happily married to her husband Tim for 32 years.The family would like to say a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the OU Medical Center, Peggy & Charles Stephenson Cancer Center as well as Heartland Hospice of Shawnee for their dedication to their patients. She is survived by her Husband: Timothy Hawkins; Son: Scott Hawkins, Two daughters: Amanda and Christy Hawkins of Tecumseh; Two brothers: Douglas Ledford of Shawnee, James Ledford and wife Lori Ledford of Shawnee. Brother in-law: Kenneth Hawkins and Sharon Crawford of Macomb; Two Sister in-laws: Diana Frisby and husband Michael Frisby of Shawnee; Loretta Burton of Shawnee; Former Sister in-law: Carla Clemons of Shawnee; Three Grandchildren: Burny “Junior” Chesher; Shyla Chesher; Kyden Hawkins and numerous nieces; nephews; other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by both her parents Marvin “Pete” and Ora Mae (Goodnight) Ledford. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Bethel Assembly of God, 18509 Bethel Road, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801 with Reverend Kenneth Hawkins officiating. Interment will held privately by family at Johnson Cemetery in Shawnee.
