Verna C. Karns

Verna Carol Karns (aka Vernie), died at the age of age 62 after a long battle with lung cancer. She went to be with her heavenly father on April 16, 2012. She died peacefully in her home in The Village, OK with her loving husband, Sherman by her side. She was born October 31, 1949 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Her most recent job held was at OSE' and Hertz. She held various jobs over the years including being a beautician. She was a talented artist and had the most beautiful singing voice. She was a loving mother, sister, wife and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Floella Mercer and Vernon Mercer of Midwest City, Ok. She is survived by her husband, Sherman E Karns II of The Village, daughter Deanna Forsythe and son-in-law, Rick Forsythe of Oklahoma City, Ok.. Daughter Cynthia Hinch of Oklahoma City, Ok. Brother, Gary Dean Mercer (aka Deanie) and sister-in-law, Nancy Mercer of Del City, Ok. Father and Mother-in-law, Sherman Karns Sr. and Rita Karns of The Village, Ok.. Five grandchildren, Chris, Kyle, Tanner, Lucas and Brandon Visitation will be held Wednesday April 18, 2012 from 12:00pm to 7:00pm at Corbett Funeral Home, 807 W. Wilshire, Oklahoma City, Ok..
