Walter Miller

d. December 22, 2011

Walter Lincoln Miller was born to Fred E. & Matilda Beachy Miller in Princess Anne County, Virginia. He was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His mother died when he was 10 years old. He was the youngest of three children and also had five half – siblings. Walter earned his Registered Nurse Certification at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and later became certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist. He worked at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Haiti, the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City and ended up retiring from the Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was married to Barbara on March 10, 1967 and helped raise her five children; Timothy (who preceded him in death), Janis, Valerie, Daniel and Barbie (who preceded him in death). Barbie asked Walter to adopt her when she was twelve and he gladly agreed. He was baptized on February 10, 1968 and attended the North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses (now known as the Belle Isle Congregation), eventually serving as an elder up to his death. He served on the Hospital Liaison Committee for a number of years helping many Jehovah’s Witnesses and their children with their medical needs. He utilized his medical abilities also by serving in the First Aid Department during District Conventions and Circuit Assemblies of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He passed away with his loving wife Barbara, one of the children, Valerie and several members of the congregation at his side. He will be missed by all those that knew him and we all look forward to the Bibles promise to see him again.
