Warren Henry Hutchison

May 19, 1947 — November 3, 2016

Warren Henry Hutchison born May 19, 1947 in Thomas, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Norman, due to complications from liver failure. Warren was a member of the First Christian Church of Thomas and was retired on the family farm. Warren was born just south of Thomas to Frank and Zona Hutchison. He was raised on the family farm alongside his siblings; Frances, Dona, Ray, Anna, Mary and Albert. He attended Mullberry Country School through the eighth grade. In the ninth grade, Warren continued his education at Thomas High School where he was active in FFA, track and football. It was at Thomas High School where he met and fell in love with Florence Ann Hoskins in 1963 during their junior year. They both graduated from Thomas High School in 1965. They continued their courtship the following year as Florence Ann worked on an associate’s degree at SWOSU and Warren worked on his bachelor’s degree in McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. They were married on August 24, 1966. In 1969, Warren graduated from McPherson College. After college, Warren began a teaching career in Belle Plain, Kansas. In 1969 they welcomed their first born, Troy Don to the home. In 1970, Warren’s teaching career was interrupted by being drafted into the United States military. After completing his time in the military, Warren was honorably discharged. In 1971, near the end of Warren’s military service, he and Florence Ann welcomed their second child, Chad Alvin into the home. Following his military service, the family moved back to Oklahoma to Hutchison land referred to by the family as “over East”, just a few miles north of Hydro. Warren helped his father with the family farming while growing his own farm at the current residence. It was here, in 1973, that Jennifer Lynne was welcomed into the family. After 14 years of farming, Warren returned to education. He taught math in Guthrie Public Schools. Warren would make many trips back and forth from home to Guthrie. It was difficult for Warren being away from his family and their activities, so he left Guthrie Public Schools to find local work that allowed more time to be with his family. For 17 years, Warren drove a semi-truck hauling various items throughout the middle part of the country. He retired in 2007. Over the past twenty years Warren and Florence Ann enjoyed following their grandchildren and their many activities. They traveled all over the state attending music recitals; basketball, football, softball and soccer games; track and cross country events; and any program their grandchildren were involved in. On January 25, 2015, Florence Ann passed away after a brave battle fighting cancer and complications. Warren continued following his grandchildren, as his health allowed, to their numerous activities. Warren is survived by two sons, Troy Hutchison and wife, Elaine of Fairview; Chad Hutchison and wife, Stacy of Cherokee; one daughter, Jennifer McManus and husband, Gary of Moore; eight grandchildren, Sydney Hutchison, Sawyer Hutchison, Baleigh Ann Hutchison, Corbin Hutchison, Haley Hutchison, Jenna McManus, Jessica McManus, Jackson McManus; brother Ray Hutchison and wife Cheryl; sisters Frances McPherson and husband Larry, Dona Johnson and husband Ed, Anna Taylor and husband Buddy; brothers in law; Dean Holloway, Alvin Hoskins and wife, Emmelita, Loy Hoskins and wife, Rhonda; sisters in law; Gerri Hutchison, Trish Dillmon, Vicki Wescott and husband, Steve; and 25 nieces and nephews.
