The Life of Wesley Joel Miller Wesley was born May 22, 1962, in Oklahoma City, to James and Delores O’Neil Miller. He was one of four children. He has one older sister, Vickie Miller Nicolle Clanahan. Wesley loved his nieces and nephews and spent a lot of time with Vickie’s family when the children were younger. He has one older brother, Mike Miller. While Mike was in the service in Okinawa Wesley stayed with him for a while and talked about it often. He has one younger brother, Kyle Miller. They enjoyed camping and going to the lake together. As a child Wesley attended Rancho Village Baptist Church where Brother Amos was a close family friend. Wesley also attended Regency Park Baptist Church where Brother Rayburn had a great influence on his life. Wesley began dating Debbie Friar in high school and became a regular attendee of First Baptist Church of Moore where the Friar family were members. The Miller family has been members of Emmaus Baptist Church since the early ‘90s. He attended Kelley Elementary School, Central Junior High and graduated from Moore High School in 1981. Wesley played the trumpet and was a member of the Moore High School Marching Band and the stage band. On July 15, 1983, Wesley married his high school sweetheart, Deborah Friar. This summer they celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. Wesley and Debbie have three children: Christopher Cody, Thomas Christian, and Lora Catherine. Cody lives in Moore with his significant other Sylvia and daughter Khira. He works for UPS and attends OSU-OKC. Thomas is currently a senior at Southmoore High School. He has participated in hockey, wrestling and football. Lora is a junior at Southmoore High School. She is an honor student, a Link Crew member, played basketball in the past and is currently on the swim team. Wes worked for the Moore Dairy Queen during junior high and high school. He had a passion for photography and opened Photography by Wes. He specialized in senior pictures, weddings, children and sports. He started working for UPS in 2004. His last position was in the safety department. Wesley enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He sometimes coached and loved watching his children play their various sports. He liked to grill and smoke meats for family get-togethers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father. Wesley loved water sports of all kinds. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Delores Miller. He is survived by his wife Debbie; two sons and one daughter: Cody of Moore, Thomas and Lora of the home; one granddaughter: Khira of Moore; mother-in-law: Ramona Friar of OKC; father and mother-in-law: Odell and Dee Friar of OKC; one sister and two brothers and their spouses: Vicki and Skip Clanahan of OKC, Mike and Lynn Miller and Kyle and Lisa Miller of Tahlequah; sister-in-law: Krista Friar of Seattle, WA; and sister-in-law and spouse: Colleen and Bob Horton of Fort Worth, TX; ten nieces and three nephews; and numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews. Wesley Joel Miller passed from this world, Saturday, November 12, after a brief, but valiant battle with stomach cancer. The family wants to thank the many friends, health care providers and co-workers who have supported Wesley and his family during this time.
