William Dale “Billy” Johnson was born July 23 1938 at Britton, Oklahoma to Lewis Monroe and Alice Alverna Orcutt Johnson. Bill departed this life after a long battle with Cancer on May 13, 2013. In the weeks before his passing he spent much time in conversation with his lord and savior Jesus this was a great source of comfort to him. The family would like to acknowledge the loving and compassionate care provided by City Hospice and the staff of Edmond Nursing Center. Bill spent his childhood years in the town of Britton Oklahoma and was a 1957 graduate of the old John Marshall High School. Bill spent most of his career in the construction field and travelled extensively with his wife Mary Sue finally settling in Slidell , Louisiana after experiencing a number of floods and Hurricanes the big one “Hurricane Katrina” convinced him that it was time to move his family back to Oklahoma. Bill leaves behind his wife of 53 years Mary Sue Shipman Johnson, also Children Diana Lee Smith, Pamela Sue Johnson and Charles Lewis Johnson, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is survived by brothers Steven Monroe, Michael Neal, Benjamin Woodford “Sonny”, Richard Leon and Donnie Paul Johnson as well as sisters Ellen Louise “Susie” Ashurst, Betty Dawn Lindley, Kathleen Ann Lankford. Bill was preceded in death by sons Billy Gene, Donald Ray Johnson and Brother David Ray Johnson. The memorial service will be at 1:30 Friday May 17th at Britton Baptist Church with internment at Britton Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Rev. Donnie Rockwell.
