William Hans "Bill" Ring, Jr., 65, passed away June 16, 2009, from complications following emergency heart surgery. He was born on July 6, 1943 to William and Maisie Ring in Little Falls, New York. His family moved to Oklahoma when he was 16 years old. He graduated from Bethany High School in 1961 and worked his way through college as a house painter. After graduating from Bethany Nazarene College with a degree in business, he worked for an insurance company in various locations--Illinois, Connecticut, and Minnesota. In 1971 he married Elaine "Lonnie" Timme. After having two daughters in Minnesota, Bill and Lonnie moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where they owned a business and lived for 17 years before moving to Oklahoma City to pursue another business opportunity. Bill loved meeting friends for coffee, people watching, discussing the politics of the day, singing gospel music, and daily jogging. He is survived by his wife Lonnie; daughter Heather and her husband Camper Mundy; daughter Allison and her husband Shane Wear; granddaughters Salem, Tess, and Hope; sisters Sonia Ring, Sigrid Ring, Karen Borgstrom, Kathleen Lamb, Kristen Cantrell, and Elaine McCaskill; and brothers Phil Ring, Russell Ring, Matt Ring, and Tim Ring. In lieu of flowers, you may honor Bill's life by making a contribution in his name to your local YMCA, the American Cancer Society, or Bethany First Church of the Nazarene/Music Department, 6789 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008. Bill chose to be an organ and tissue donor, and he will be remembered with a memorial service at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, June 24th at 2:00PM.
