He attended Baylor University for two years and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1953. While at TCU, Bill met the love of his life, Bettye Ellis. During his residency their sons, Bill Jr. and Bobby, arrived only 19 months apart. Dr. Scheihing served in the Air Force for two years, then returned to Fort Worth to practice medicine as an ob/gyn. Bill enjoyed watching his sons play different sports. He served as the booster club president for Arlington Heights High School while his sons played football there. Bill was also an avid TCU Horned Frogs fan. Purple through and through, Bill had season football tickets for several decades. Dr. Scheihing loved his patients and the privilege of bringing babies into the world. He never lost the joy of practicing medicine. Golf was another passion of Bill's life. He was a longtime member of Shady Oaks Country Club. Many lifelong golfing friends will miss him on the course. Active in church work throughout his life, Bill served for several years as a deacon at Southside Church of Christ. In addition, he was a leader for Bible Study Fellowship.
