William Spriggs

Funeral service to be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 18, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Harrah located at 2185 Church Street, Harrah, Oklahoma with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City. WILLIAM ALLEN SPRIGGS of Oklahoma City passed from this life into the next on April 13, 2011. Born in Wanette, OK on July 24, 1932 to parents Eva Love Spriggs and William F. Spriggs, he was the oldest of six children. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1950 and later attended Oklahoma Baptist University. He and his wife, Doris A. Spriggs, were longtime members of Harrah First Baptist Church where he dedicated many years to the bus and children"™s ministries, as well as, singing in the choir. Many years after retiring from Tinker AFB, Allen and Doris moved to Oklahoma City, where he became a member of Village Baptist Church. An avid reader, bible scholar, and word puzzle devotee, he enjoyed laughing, telling jokes, and just talking to folks. Allen is survived by his son Randall A. Spriggs of Oklahoma City, daughter Catherine McPherson of Hilo, HI, brothers Keith of Midwest City and Darrell of Choctaw, sisters-in-law Cora Haynes of Grand Junction, CO and Sammie Newport of Stratford, OK, two grandsons, and three granddaughters, numerous nieces and nephews, and innumerable friends.
