William G. Venable

Funeral Service Thursday, March 9th, 2017 - 10:00 AM - Trinity Baptist Church 620 N. Cemetery Road - Yukon, OK - 73099 William Glen Venable was born in Russellville, Arkansas on October 29, 1946, and went to be with the Lord March 5, 2017. Bill was a graduate of Central State University. He was a Navy corpsman, and served in the hospital in Da Nang, Vietnam. In his younger days he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was husband to Pat, and father to Will and Laura. As Laura grew up he became interested in his Scottish heritage, and spent many hours at Scottish festivals cheering Laura on in her dance competitions. Bill credited his salvation to the witness of his Aunt Dorothy. He loved the Lord, and wanted to share his love of God with others. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Yukon and served in the Singles Ministry for several years. His spiritual grounding stood him well through the death of son Will, as well as battling the debilitating effects of Huntington's Disease. The thing he missed most was losing the ability to attend church and worship with his church family. Bill is preceded in death by son, Will Venable, parents, Millie and Wilburn Venable, and brother Robert Lee Venable. He is survived by wife Pat of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Shaun Ladymon, grandsons Kellen and Declan, as well as many nieces and nephews and their children, and beloved friends.
