Woodrow Shelton

Woodrow (Woody) W. Shelton Jr., 59 of Norman and the McAlester area previously, passed away Monday October 3, 2011 at home after a brief bout with cancer. Woody was born in Nebraska at the Auffot Air Force Base. Woody was raised in Nebraska and then moved to Oregon in 1973 where he worked at The White Satin Sugar Factory in Nyssa, OR. Woody then worked at MCI phone company for 25 years before moving to Oklahoma in 2002. Woody loved hunting, fishing and football. In 1992 Woody met the love of his life, Violet, when he fell in love instantly. The couple were married January 1, 1993. Woody was a wonderful, caring and loving husband of 19 years. Woody was loved by those close to him, liked by most and respected by his co-workers alike. Woody worked for Lowe's in McAlester, OK and enjoyed his job and friends he made while working there.
